It's really
hard to believe. Forty years have gone by since we walked up on that stage and
got our diplomas. It seems like it was just yesterday. Listening to Beatle
albums (Rubber Soul was released that year), the beginnings
of flower power, the war in
Viet Nam, Bambi's and the Bastille at the Rotunda, sailors and bars on Thames street, the
Jamestown ferry, hot cheese sandwiches at the RI lunch, and a whole lot more. We all
were lucky to have been there at that time. We made life-long friendships which have lasted over
this span of time.
After
graduation, we all went our separate ways, and lost touch with many of our classmates.
Whether it be De La Salle, Rogers, Middletown, St. Catherine's
or Portsmouth, we all were
connected, somehow, some way. Occasionally, we think back to our free-spirited days
of high school and often think; I wonder whatever happened to so and so? Sure would
like to see them again. Well, now is your chance.
This
site is dedicated to all the members of the Class of '66 from the
five
island high schools.
We hope that you can attend the 2006 reunion, and, if you know of anyone in our class
that you can contact and let them know about this site, it would be greatly appreciated.
Please take
the time to click on the Stay In Touch link and enter in your information so others can
look you up and find out about you. Once you have signed up, you will become part of
a searchable database and others, who may want to contact you, can look you up here.
UPDATE:
Make sure you check
out the Picture page for all the photos taken at the 35th reunion. It was a great time
and these pictures will bring back many memories. If you have pictures that you wish
to submit, please email John Flanders for details.
Thanks to each and everyone for making this a very special weekend.
